What kind of service does Maid-2-Shine provide?

Maid-2-Shine provides a professional cleaning service tailored to meet your needs. We only put forward one cleaner to you so you will have the same cleaner each week. If you wish to change your cleaner, or she goes on holiday, we will find you a new cleaner as soon as possible.

How do you vet your cleaners?

When applicants call the office they are asked a number of structured questions to determine their suitability. Suitable applicants are then interviewed at their own home. This eliminates unsuitable cleaners. At the interview they are asked to provide proof of identity, proof of address and current or recent work references -These are always verified for authenticity. One of the real benefits of interviewing cleaners at home is to eliminate applicants who have homes that are, to put it diplomatically, less than hygienic! As you can see, we do a lot of work before you even speak to a potential cleaner.

How do you ensure reliability and honesty?

By checking the cleaners references, proof of id and proof of address. If they can’t provide verifiable references, we do not offer them work. There are no exceptions.

Who pays the cleaner, you or me?

You do. You pay her the applicable rate at the end of each week. If she only comes to you one day a week you pay her on that day.

Who employs the cleaner?

You employ the cleaner. However, domestic cleaners have traditionally been self-employed workers with payment in cash.

Do you have insurance?

Yes we do. The cleaner has cover for accidental damage to your property or for injury to themselves when working on your property. The insurance is subject to a £100 excess, ( payable by the client.) So it isn’t for minor breakages. We also have public liability for £1,000 000.
